Silva Sausage
Silva Sausage was founded by Manuel Martins in 1967 in San Jose. Portuguese Linguica was the initial item produced and quickly became a community favorite in Northern and Central California. Manuel added Italian Sausage and Spanish style Chorizo to his repertoire as Silva began to expand throughout the entire state. Now located in Gilroy California, the company is run by Manuel’s sons Fernando and Rick. The product line has grown as has Silva’s customer base to include most California retailers as well as other West Coast accounts. Silva sausages are still minimally processed, and all made by hand with care and skill, just as they were when the company started. “A taste of Silva is a taste of home, no matter where you are”.
A TRADITION OF TASTE
The Schaller & Weber story begins nearly one hundred years ago with Ferdinand Schaller as an apprentice butcher and sausage maker in Stuttgart, Germany. Fast forward through years of experience and adventure and you'll find Ferdinand operating his butcher shop in the Yorkville neighborhood of New York's Upper East Side. That shop became the city's go-to for authentic German meat and sausages. Today, the recipes and techniques that made Schaller & Weber a fixture on the tables of discerning New Yorkers, is the choice of people across the country who want traditional German sausages and cuts.
