With the support of scholarship donors, WAFC established and has funded the Food Industry Management Program at the USC Marshall School of Business since 1958. In 2000 WAFC, working with the Community College system launched a curriculum of 10 classes specifically designed for food industry associates

Minimum of five years of successful commodity purchasing experience in a commodity based food industry business. Experience in procuring sugar, grain based items, starch and salt is a plus. A history of interaction and coordination with operations, transportation, inventory management, sales and quality assurance departments is necessary.
